If you have ever been to China, it will probably have struck you: Chinese people love physical activities outdoors and especially in parks. Outdoor Fitness is everywhere!
Get up early one morning and head for the nearest park…. No need for it to be a big park, right? No matter where you go, you will most likely witness a show that is quite unusual.
Here, people meet in the morning to do Tai Chi, fitness, volleyball, dance and a whole host of other sports of all kinds.
Unlike in our country, people are not ashamed to dance, jump, move… in public. And there is no need to be a pro… everyone is welcome! All you have to do is get out of your house and go to the park. Then to get into a group and enjoy this quite unusual sports session!
As I said, this is particularly obvious in parks, but it is not uncommon to see this kind of scene on the street. We have already seen the employees of a store all go out on the sidewalk for a quarter of an hour of exercise to music. That is unthinkable in Europe. We also often see elderly people stretching or hitting their limbs to activate their blood circulation! Moreover, we found that in general, the elderly in China are in great shape! To meditate on…
But as it is not necessarily easy to imagine, we made you a little video compilation so that you can get an idea ;-)… We’re nice, aren’t we?
Outdoor fitness is always free of charge
But it gets even better! In Chinese parks you will find many outdoor fitness machines provided free of charge by the state (and this throughout the country). That’s a great idea, isn’t it? China, like many other countries, is facing an ever-increasing obesity problem, especially among young people. So in our country people are spending a fortune to go lock themselves in a fitness room (I’m not criticizing, I’m one of those people) and try to stay in shape. Here, it’s outside and it’s free! Moreover the concept has a great success….
There are always people on the machines and the atmosphere is very friendly. Well, it’s nice to tell you all this…. But to give you a better idea of the concept, we decided to test the Chinese version of outdoor fitness for you… Well, yes, we don’t hesitate to sweat for your entertainement 😉
And if you like our videos and the efforts we make for your pleasure ;-), don’t hesitate to subscribe to our youtube channel.
So, what do you think about sports in China? Nice, isn’t it????
